Giocoliere is a rosè wine produced with Primitivo grapes by the Cantina Sociale of Melissano. Giocoliere is a surprising wine, especially because it uses a vine like the Primitivo Salento in a land where for centuries now the pink is synonymous with Negroamaro. A Rosato then produced in purity from grapes of Primitivo varieties grown sapling from vineyards of Melissano area, Taviano and Racale in the southwestern part of the Salento peninsula.
The grapes are harvested in late August and vinified in red with fermentation maceration for 12 hours. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature and aging is done in stainless steel tanks. It follows a light maturation of a few months in the bottle.
A first visual analysis is limpid, with bright cherry red color with slightly garnet. The consistency is good with high body. The nose presents a bouquet of ripe fruit, strawberries, cherries and apricots. The taste is slightly acidic, but also pleasant up to be even softer after the second sip. Rosé from 13.5 degrees that explodes in your mouth, leaving a long finish.
