Kalema Negroamaro rosato is an extraordinary wine produced by Agricola Fabiana in the land of Manduria. It is produced from Primitivo grapes grown in the countryside of Faggiano near the Ionian Sea in vineyards at about 100 m above sea level with very high average temperatures and a particularly low rainfall. The soils are medium-clayey grained.
The vineyard, partly planted with the sapiese sapling system and partly espalier, is composed of an average density of about 4500 vines per hectare with an average age of vines ranging from 20 to 40 years. The vineyard gives an average yield of about 120 quintals per hectare. The grapes are harvested in the first ten days of September, and after harvesting by hand, the selection of the best grapes, and the pigiodiraspatura. The maceration is carried out only for a few hours followed by a partial racking of the must with soft pressing and then the process ends with a thermo-conditioned fermentation in white.
Kalema Negroamaro rosato has a pink color with cherry reflections, an intense and persistent bouquet with hints of cherry and raspberry. On the palate it is fresh and persistent.
