Vegamaro is an innovative wine from Feudi di Guagnano winery designed for an audience wishing to taste a wine obtained without using products of animal origin. Vegamaro is therefore a wine produced exclusively from Negroamaro grapes and is completely vegetable. The name Vegamaro is the synthesis of the word vegan and negroamaro and contains in itself the essence of the first vegan negroamaro to the world, certified by ICEA (Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification), certifying body, among other things, of all those products that do not contain substances of animal origin, or GMOs.
Vegamaro is produced in Guagnano from 30-year-old vineyards espalier. The harvest is done manually in the second week of September. After crushing and de-stemming the grapes, the mass containing the must macerates for about 7 days at a temperature of 26-28 °C. The wine obtained is refined for 3 months in barriques of first and second use. Finally The wine is conditioned in light dark Bordeaux bottles (350 grams). The closure (stopper) is made of bioplastic materials derived from sugar cane. It is the result of years of research by the NOMACORC company and tends to facilitate the optimal oxygen permeability in wine. This is ready after about 3 months from bottling and keeps its organoleptic characteristics intact for at least three years.
The wine has a bright ruby red, with a rich smell of crunchy red fruits, vegetal notes, hints of sweet spices and toasted hints of tobacco. In the mouth is expressed with balance and a tannin that enriches the structure, making the sip full and elegant.
