Torcicoda is a wine produced by Tormaresca from Primitivo grapes from vineyards grown on sapling and spurred cordon in the Estate Maìme of S. Pietro Vernotico (BR). The grapesare harvested just overripe during the first week of September. After crushing, the maceration, handled with pumping and soft delestage, is continued for 15 days in stainless steel tanks. During this phase, the wines have completed the alcoholic fermentation at a temperature not exceeding 26 ° C. After racking, the wine makes the malolactic fermentation directly in French and Hungarian oak barrels, where it is aged for about 10 months. It’s followed by a further period of 8 months in bottle before release.
Characterized by an intense ruby red colour. It presents fruity plum aromas, blackberry and raspberry that are combined with those of spicy pepper, coffee and cocoa. At the palate it exudes a mellow and rich flavor, pleasant and elegant, with a good intensity and persistence. Serve at a temperature of 18-20 ° C.
