The name of this wine, Le Camarde, derives from one of the oldest districts of the fief of Guagnano which is called Camarda. Here the Feudi di Guagnano winery has several negroamaro and primitive vineyards that together contribute to the creation of this superb wine. Le Camarde is a very successful bland between Primitivo and Negroamaro which shows a pleasantness and a balance out of the ordinary. It is a very complex wine that is loved immediately from the first sip.
The harvest is done manually: the primitivo at the beginning of September, the negroamaro in the second decade of the same month. Once the grapes are harvested they are taken to the cellar where they macerate and ferment for two weeks. The wine that is obtained is aged in French oak barrels for three months and then finishes its refinement for a further 3 months in bottle. Le Camarde is a young wine that has a compact red color with a sensory profile of ripe red fruit. It evolves in notes of licorice, juniper and china. The tannins are soft and enveloping.
